Why Should You Spend The Money to Get the Good Meats?

Because I care about you, and you should care about you too.

I’m going to use cows/beef as an example, but this goes for ALL MEAT. CHICKEN, PIGS, LAMB, and any other animal you can eat.

First off, factory farms are also bacteria farms. Yum. Cows are literally just given enough room to eat, and they don’t get bathroom breaks. So there is poop everywhere. It’s common that the drains are not cleaned, and they are standing in over a foot of shit.

The cows are under constant worry and stress, yes animals can feel stress too. This causes sickness and illness in humans and animals alike. When stressed, a cow’s immune response decreases, allowing viruses or bacteria to grow in the lungs and cause disease, then you eat that. Again, yum.

This is probably the most important, so glue your eyes to these next few info segments. As I just said before the living conditions are shit, or should I say in shit. These conditions are so bad, that normally, a cow would get sick and die. Yup, that’s seriously how bad/gross it is. Losing animals would cut into profit, and we can’t have that. Also, keeping sanitary conditions would cut into profit, so we can’t have that either.

What do we do? Give them broad-spectrum antibiotics. It’s cheap, efficient, and will keep them alive long enough to grow to full size. About 80% of antibiotics produced in the U.S are fed to farm animals. Hello, cheap Walmart meat...

Don’t worry, it gets worse.

Want to know what happens when you use an antibiotic over and over again? Pathogens (a bacterium, virus, or other microorganisms that can cause disease) become resistant to the antibiotic. Animals eliminate a large portion of the antibiotics unchanged through waste, and the fully active antibiotics make their way into the soil and our water systems. ONCE MORE, OUR WATER SYSTEMS. This contributes to antibiotic-resistant diseases not only in animals but in humans too.

In terms from the CDC (centers for disease control and prevention) “Antibiotic resistance happens when germs like bacteria and fungi develop the ability to defeat the drugs designed to kill them. That means the germs are not killed and continue to grow.

Infections caused by antibiotic-resistant germs are difficult and sometimes impossible, to treat. In most cases, antibiotic-resistant infections require extended hospital stays, additional follow-up doctor visits, and costly and toxic alternatives.

Antibiotic resistance does not mean the body is becoming resistant to antibiotics; it is that bacteria have become resistant to the antibiotics designed to kill them.”

Fun!

Not to mention grass-fed meat tastes way better, and is stuffed full of nutrients compared to gross meat. Research has shown the grass-fed beef has a healthier balance of fatty acids then grain-fed meat does (factory-raised). Grass-fed and grass-finished (means not half-assed and fed half grass half grains its life) produced meat with higher levels of omega 3s, higher levels of conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), and higher levels of carotenoids then grain-fed.

There were a lot of terms in that last paragraph. Here is a mini-dictionary for ya; Omega 3’s - In VERY VERY VERY short terms, there are 3 kinds ALA, DHA, and EPA. Without them, your insides would be an absolute mess. No brain thoughts, your blood would barely function as blood, you would have ZERO energy, and good luck with your heart and/or cholesterol. Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA): Health benefits with respect to cardiovascular disease, cancer, obesity, osteoporosis, and the immune system. Also has been said to have great weight loss benefits. Carotenoids: The reason that meat fat looks yellow. Carotenoids mean more antioxidants, nutrients, and more flavor.

If you don’t care about any of the above at all, and still are not convinced you deserve to eat like the king or queen you are and spend the extra money on good meat instead of wasting it on bad meat that has no nutrients and is filled with antibiotics and bacterias, at least do it because good grass-fed meat tastes like 1000000 times better.

I would really like to know if you learned something from this today, or if I convinced you to treat yourself from now on. Honestly, it’s so worth it just spending the money now on good shit for yourself. You deserve it.
